• Question: how is your eye connected to your face , I know it has something to do with sockets but I want to know the details?

      Hi Ellie,

Well, first up, I’m going to say I’m not great at biology, but I’ll give it a go. The socket is actually the hole in your skull, to make space for your eye. It’s all filled in with muscle/ tissue to make a nice place for it to sit.
Then your face has skin and it has a special moveable bit (I’m sure you know what this is) – your eyelid, which also has eyelashes to help keep out dust and things.
So then there is just the hard part left – how it is actually connected…
Out the back of your eye, there is a nerve and that goes right to your brain. Although I have heard that it is actually an extension of your brain, not a nerve, but I don’t know if that is true or not – maybe that is something you could look up?
