A lot of the leaflets that young people get, especially about careers, come from organisations, and are written in that way. These would be different, these are coming from me! A real engineer, with a real life and a real background – I remember being younger and not knowing what I wanted to do, I remember the kind of help I needed with making those kind of decisions and I remember how confusing so much of the information I got what. What I wanted, or needed, was a real tangible taste of what jobs in science and engineering are like. What do engineers actually do? What is their day to day life like? How did they get to what they are doing now? What did they want to do when they were younger? If I want to build rockets, what course should I do? If I want to learn more about aeroplanes and how to make them, what should I be studying? That way, I will make the leaflets engaging and relevant for young people!
