I’ve read about the New Horizons mission – it sounds really interesting.
I’ve had a little look on the NASA website – it has lots of great information. Also – it’s not long til gets there! 14th July.
So – it turns out Pluto has been classified as a dwarf planet, maybe because it has a moon?
There is lots about the science that New Horizons will do and actually, it doesn’t say if it will change the classification of Pluto. My thoughts is that actually, it doesn’t matter what the classification is – because the science will remain the same. It sounds really exciting though – it’s going to find out what it’s made of and what it looks like – as well as the same about it’s moon and possibly also some other things that are so far out at the edge of the Solar System too!
