I think I have been to lots of places, but holidays will do that. I particularly like exploring the UK, I have also been to America, bits of Germany, Oslo, I spent 4 months in Russia and my last holiday was touring around New Zealand.

      HI James,

I love travelling – it’s a really good way to learn more about the world and meet people you might not normally meet and eat amazing food. I’ve travelled through SE Asia, Japan, Taiwan, India, China, a lot of Europe, Morocco, USA and the UK. For my work I’ve travelled in Europe and also spent time in Moscow, Russia, commissioning some satellites which was really exciting. If you get a chance to travel my advice would be go for it!

Last week I crossed the Equator (the line round the middle of the Earth) for the first time! I was on a research trip to Brazil to meet people and find out how they use digital technology in their daily lives. That was very exciting.

Outside of that, I’ve travelled a lot in the Northern Hemisphere and spent time doing internships and other work in places like Asia, the US and Europe.

I have been to quite a few places! My parents like to travel, so through my childhood I travelled around america from Las Vegas to Florida to San Francisco. Through university I struggled to travel quite as much as I had a few part time jobs, but I managed to travel through Russia as well as places in Europe. Over the last year I have been to Berlin, Amsterdam, Copenhagen and Hamburg! And in the summer I am planning a big trip to New York and San Francisco for my honeymoon! Later this year I will also be travelling to Switzerland with my dad to see CERN and visit a friend who is working on the Large Hadron Collider which will be really exciting! Next year I am hoping to be presenting my research at a couple of conferences, one in Copenhagen and one in Italy!
