• Question: What do you believe is on the other side of a black hole and on the other side of a worm hole.

      I don’t think there is anything on the other side of black hole – I think black holes just suck everything in and then push them into the smallest space imaginable – smaller than a pin-head.
      As to worm holes – if Dr Who is anything go by, they can go anywhere anytime within our universe, and Quantum Leap says they can go between different universes, but they all see to be Earth bound – so perhaps it’s a combination: anywhere and anytime within our universe or another – that’s a whole lot to think about!

      These are big questions Harry P! Lots of very theoretical physics, which is always exciting because know one really knows with absolute certainty what’s going on so you get some wacky ideas. We can’t see through black holes because nothing, not even light, escapes being sucked in. Supposedly it all gets sucked into a single point, called a singularity. Black hole theory says that a black hole is actually the opening to a wormhole and on the other side is something called a white hole, which is like the reverse of a black hole – instead of everything getting sucked in, everything is forced out. However, this is just theory and most physicists believe that a white hole can’t actually exist in the universe. On the other hand, no one really knows how an actual black hole singularity exists in the first place so there’s still a lot to understand. Wormholes are slightly different – theoretically you could travel both ways in a wormhole, unlike a black hole, and the other end could pop out anywhere in the universe, maybe even a different galaxy. Unfortunately, again, most physicists believe that in reality wormholes, if they did form, would be too unstable to use and so far there has been no evidence that they form at all. But science is a work in progress and who knows what we might we might discover in the future. We only discovered out first real black hole 40 years ago and we’re always building bigger and better telescopes and satellites to search for other unknown objects in the universe.
